And we do have quite a big Japanese-speaking contingent here, I think. Not to the level of somewhere like NeoGAF which has a huuuuge import community who are mostly Japanese-fluent, but still quite a few~

Possibly? I still have that other exam, though.
I looked at some of the sample questions on their site and while N4 and 5 were easy, N3 was the first one to contain stuff I didn't know. So I guess that might be a suitable level for me in a year or two. Maybe. I really don't want to overestimate my skills, though.
Or at all. I mean low e-bay listings happen, but you have to figure fees as well. If it completes for $50 with shipping they are out the shipping, then paypal eats around 3% and then you pay e-bay fees on it later for the full amount. So $50 shipped is maybe netting them $35.
I sat the old sankyuu (same as current N4) in 2007-ish, and my Japanese then was nowhere near then as good as yours is now. Still got something like 90%.I'd like to say that you could pass N2 in a couple of years, as I really don't think your Japanese will be any worse then than mine was when I passed the nikyuu. But it can be difficult to gauge someone's ability from the odd conversation online and the Japanese LPs they've dabbled in. :'D Still, give it consideration. I don't think it's beyond you at all.
