If so, there is only three rooms at the house I live in, the third one being built by my father this year as a workshop.
So I can't close any bedroom door. And it's cold in South Africa (since it's winter) and I'm the only one who likes the cold.
It was directed at people with morning (or nighttime) cat attack issues.

My house only has 3 bedrooms....currently only one is actually being used as such.
I don't understand how this is relevant though

Your bedroom has no door at all?
Get your Dad to install a door...if you like the cold then open some windows.

Another alternative is to put the cat(s) away in a room (such as the bathroom) at night, with that door closed and leave the litter tray + water in there for it/them.

My cat can open the 2 sliding doors in my house (and so can my dogs, of course)...but not the other doors.

He can jump and grab a doorknob, then turn it?
Or is he jumping and using his weight on a handle?

    You can try this: http://flixel.org/
You could also check with Flash Game forums and see if there's information on game programming (which there probably is). For example: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.ph...f13&board=16.0
I'm just a spriter so I havn't really looked for Flash programming.

He's not grabbing a doorknob or pushing a handle. My doors have knobs, so what he does is reach up and press the latch with his claws or (for doors not latched) he just drags the door outward.

Doesn't sound like a very child safe house, if a cat can do that.

childproofing is overrated and moot if the kid can read.

    1) Old house. 2) The children of the house are both in their 20s now. 3) We plan on moving out anyway.

It's obvious there's an issue if a cat can open existing doors...and problems like that can be solved without having to move house.

    Old house is rather vague
An old house here could be anywhere from 50-200 or so years old.
In Europe an old house would be much older than that, of course.
But I've seen houses in Ireland that are reasonably old and made child safe.
