That makes more sense. I got a Pikachu with the nickname of "Raichu."
Any Pikachu I have in the games I nickname "Raichu" - more than one, I give random nicknames like "Iralniutzi" or "Uxiquence" and it sounds pretty weird...

i named my Charmander Ashfire, i left my Pikachu as he was, named my Caterpie Wyrm, etc, etc, etc, either leaving them as they were or naming them something obvious

My Litwick was Firecandle. My Zekrom was Sparky (seriously). My Kyurem was Frozenki. My Emolga was Squirshok. My Oshawott was Aquos Neos. My Klink was Steelmecha.
I think I nicknamed my Cryogonal Snowflake, I'm not sure.

I like Raichu a lot, but Raichu can't do what Pikachu does (sit/stand on one's shoulder) so I nickname my Pikachu "Raichu" and I wish it had Ice-type moves...
