They really should make a dark and depressing remake of the show (a la the new Batman movies). I'd watch the shit out of that.

Twilight is a struggling magician student envied by her peers and is consequently tortured by loneliness. She eventually cripples under the pressure and hangs herself.
Applejack is trying to make the best of her farm business, but due to harsh weather conditions, she does not succeed. Seeing no other options, she ends up returning to the big city to work as a prostitute.
Spike, filled with sexual frustration due to his constant desire for Rarity ends up raping her and then runs off. He is eventually caught by the authorities and sentenced to life in prison, where he plays "pick up the soap" with the other dragon inmates.

AND SO ON. IT WOULD SELL SO MANY COPIES.
