GSB - I actually agree, and MOTU is a very beloved property for me. (I mean, come ON; even at 8-years-old I saw the absurdity of some of the names: 'RamMan', 'Buzz-Off', etc...heh...remember, though, they were marketed to little ones, so..) They apparently are doing a new film, in more of a LOTR style, so...
Also, this 'dark tone' you mention, the Mike Young company did that, sort of, back in 2002....great series, that new one. It actually had continuity, and they really fleshed-out the characters.
