I really dig Canada. I grew up near the border, (Upstate NY) so we went all the time..Quebec, Hartford, Parc Safari, Montreal, Toronto, etc...
(Really enjoyed Montreal as a young adult..heh heh...but we wont go there...there are 'kids' here...heh... )

The very first NES game that I ever owned, outside of Mario/Duck Hunt, was Castlevania. I got it in my Easter basket when I was 12 or 13....one of the last EBs I ever got, and one of the finest.

We had rain one day last week, that lasted about 2 hours, other than that, no rain over the past 3 weeks.

Came with Mario, Zelda, Tetris, and a couple of other games that are escaping me right now. We picked up Castlevania shortly thereafter -- probably when garage sale season started up. that game.

By the time I could really start enjoying the games for it, its life cycle was over. I do remember cutting out letters from Kellogg's or Post cereal boxes (can't remember which brand) to spell out Nintendo, then mailing them in to get a free game. That's how I got Kirby's Adventure.

Love Castlevania, myself. Well, except when the games go 3-D...not my scene..ughhh. The GBA and DS versions are among my favorite games of all time. Period. I was right at the 'prime age' during the NES' rise in the US. Grand times. Scrimped for months to buy Faxanadu for $42.99...heh...

And, yes, 'local flora' means EXACTLY that, heh. I will probably retire to either Canada, Upstate NY, or Maine...just havent decided yet...
Sure miss the Canadian beers and grocery stores....man...grand stuff. And poutine...cant live without a good poutine..

Sword - Its not your 'fault' that you were born after the fact, heh... I'd say that getting our NES was a pretty jarring experience for my young mind....right up there with seeing Star Wars in the theatres in the late 70s...un-fu$king-real...yep.
