I think it's just what a reboot should be, concise and to the point.
Especially for a weird and drawn out plot such as Dragon Ball is.

That depends on what your definition "higher-level" is. Me and Gypsy are probably right around the same skill level, though for some hilarious perspective; Magic: The Gathering helped pay for my first car.

The whole premise is based around for the sake of simplifying Fighting Aliens.
There's nothing super about this premise, unless you make it worth the 20 minutes of screaming and exposition.
