Got a decent little haul for $75 from Craigslist today



It certainly feels nice to finally be adding more carts to the collection. It's been way too long.

I didn't test it, although even if it doesn't work too well. I have two extra new 72-pin connectors. You should just do the same, get a new connector, instead of spraying WD40 into it. That can't be good for it.

My favorite thing from this haul is the official Nintendo dual-drawer storage unit. I used to have one when I was a kid. Conveniently it holds 28 carts, the exact number of duplicates I have.

i don't actually, i just spray some onto Super Mario 2 and insert it a few times. get most cart's working like new, and even works for N64 if for some reason they need cleaning.

Sounds like your 72-pin connector (as Beezle said) is corroded and needs replaced.

WD40 may be working now, but it is definitely NOT a fix. Eventually, the corrosion will eat through the connector, and WD40 will do nothing.

Have you tried Rustoleum?
