This. <3 Like the best controller for 2D games ever, too. The directional pad made me about a million times better at SHMUPs than I am normally. :'D

I missed so much awesome, so I am revisiting the only Sega console that never touched my hands

Of all the consoles I've ever owned, the Gamecube and the Saturn are the ones I wanted modded the most. Sure I had a Saturn and used to do the swap trick, but that sucks balls. And the Gamecube games play better on the original console.

PDS is really, really awesome, yeah. Love the whole series, actually, but Saga is something pretty unique. Definitely worth giving another look to sometime!
I didn't have a 3D controller though, I'll blame my lack of completion on that.

Ditto. I'm strongly considering buying a Japanese Saturn when I'm abroad, because playing imports on a PAL console converts them to 50Hz, which looks ugly at best and causes horrible audio issues / crashes at worst. :/

There's a good device for playing "homebrew" gamecube games without modding the console now.

    Those Japanese Saturns are sexy.

I always liked the Saturn, it really was the underdog of that generation, but had some fantastic games that people overlooked/couldn't play due to being Japanese or American exclusives.

Is a guy on Bitgamer selling a chipped Cube with a full sized DVD case for £33 posted in the UK, I'd love to buy it but I'm skint and wouldn't use it anyway.

Yeah, I want a white one. I blame Cosmic for that. Buying one and making me all jealous...

It was pretty much doomed to failure in PAL territories given how few games were actually released for it here. :'D Definitely a good console, though! Then again, I'm a hopeless Sega fangirl, so I'd pretty much like it no matter what~

    I didn't know....
and Japan really doesn't let systems die in terms of the sales from Japan and United States....
2,000,000 copies sold in the Us, and 3x as much in Japan.

Yeah it didn't even see that many games in the US, I can only imagine for PAL territories...

I like that skeleton one as well, clear grey colour with funky coloured buttons? How come we only got a dull black console?

Whenever we had a Saturn, I always wanted Die Hard Arcade. I never seen a copy in the wild, ever.
