All fighter are is, Your Connection, How well you know the combo's, and if you know how to execute a combo. Very little skill involved.

Not really. 2-D fighters are easily some of the most skillful, deep games out there. There's a reason people are still playing Street Fighter 2 at tournaments, after all. When you're just starting out it often does boil down to button mashing and who knows more moves, but once you progress beyond that it becomes much more a matter of mind games and outwitting your opponent than complex button presses. When I used to play fighters with the people here I won quite a lot despite being by far the worst of all of us at the actual button inputs part. :'D
