Yeah, I'm picky about anime and games. I don't like games to be complicated in any way. I played a game that took 20 minutes to explain how to play. I didn't play for very long.

What genre of music is it?
Thanks, I'll check it out.
Do you listen to different types of music? I listen to new wave, metal, alternative, some r&b.
I'm guessing Sprung will have sold his PS3 by the time I own one again.![]()
I've only had 4.I've had at least 20 360s, not even exaggerating.
And I'd best be off now, work and all.![]()
The biggest detriment against it is the story is rather haphazardly put together. Most of the reviews that I've read seem to focus on how lackluster the story is. It's decent, but it's not really that involving and the story based side quests don't seem to contribute anything to the general story arc at all. There are minor problems with the combat, but nothing that breaks the game for me. The biggest combat related issue I've encountered so far has only occurred in one battle, but it was against a fuckhuge boss, and I started clipping through his stomach. Made it difficult to scale him properly, and every time I attacked I would sink down lower. This happened probably twenty times over the course of the battle (which, even on my winning run, was a forty minute ordeal, excluding the twenty or thirty attempts before that).
Also, the difficulty spikes are kind of... weird. There is no difficulty option in the game, and the vast majority of the enemies will give you no problems at all. However, you'll run into some huge enemy while traveling the countryside slaughtering everything that you come across that can annihilate you in three hits if you're not careful. This is what happened to me with the last boss -- I thought I had stumbled into a section of the main quest that I wasn't supposed to yet, because it was a very difficult battle, even though I was level 40 at the time. I seriously spent the better part of four hours attempting to beat him.
While the world isn't huge, it's large enough to feel involving. Every area kind of looks the same, but not really... parts of it definitely feel recycled. Also, bunch of the storyline quests have you going back to areas you've already been in, but with no means for fast travel to get there. It kind of "adds time" through travel time, having to run everywhere. Really, though, once you're around Level 25, all of the main enemies out in the countryside are a breeze, and it won't take you more than five minutes of walk-running (fucking stamina bar) to get pretty much anywhere once you learn a few shortcuts.
If I were to rate the game, I would have to divide it into a couple of different categories, depending on the kind of games you like to play:
Story driven gamers: 8/10. If you're looking for a fantastic, well woven story, it's really not here, at least not for the portion of the game I've played (I've heard it picks up at the end, though)
Combat driven gamers: 9/10. The "random encounter" big enemies get kind of stale after a while, since there are three main ones you'll encounter in the countryside (cyclops, griffin, and golem). They are still fun when you battle them, but it loses the excitement of those first few battles rather quickly. Thankfully, with a couple of decent pawns at your side, you can make short work of them. The combo system (at least for a warrior, which I'm playing as) is diverse enough that many people with similar but not quite the same playstyles can easily find something that works for them. Mages seem to have a bunch of different spells they can learn that look freaking awesome. I don't really know too much about Rogues at the moment, since I rarely have them in my party.
For addictive combat alone, it's worth picking up. The last boss battle I did (the one that took about four hours to finally beat) was one of the most epic battles I've encountered in an action RPG in a long time. I was literally sitting at the end of my seat once I started getting him down to his last bar of health, and my heart was pounding from the adrenaline rush when I finally bested him.
I was listening to new wave earlier today. Sheras was talking about Foreigner, and I was amazed that a kid knew who they are.I had to explain who they were to my 23 year old brother.Kids today.
Blame [adult swim] and google. Kids learn about things like Magical Foreigner Belt, then go "wtf is foreigner, mr. google?" It's great, what they can learn. My son got a Kidz Bop cd, scratched it, threw a fit, and I showed him youtube to shut him up. lol He's one of the younger kids in his kindergarten but now spells at 2.4 grade level because autocorrect in the search taught him how to spell.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
