I'm not learning AS3. I have no interest in flash or anything related. I was doing a search to find out what languages some notable game engines were written in and stumbled across ScaleForm, which is in a few games I play regularly. I decided to read about it and what it is for and, basically, it is there specifically to ease the creation of UI elements by using Flash to create them and placing them into the game itself. UnrealEngine, CryEngine, and a bunch of other engines link directly to ScaleForm, so if you are learning stuff related to Flash and want to break into game dev, I would suggest learning how to utilize this middleware.
