Sony now has become an arrogant company and doesn't respect their customers any more.
Every company begins dying from the disrespect to customers.

I think Sony is going to go downhill. I don't know if this is going to become the norm, but if it is that is really sick.
We're too entitled ad nauseum ad infinitum. I'm of the belief that the entire business model is at fault. Long-term, it's yet another cynical attempt to divorce us from the concept of ownership. $0.99 apps on Android/iPhone are one thing but $60-80 a pop is something else entirely if you're not able to recycle that investment to help finance new game purchases.

If it's going to happen, I think all 3 console vendors will need to get on board in order for it to work.

My current understanding of these said rumours is that it won't be "anti-used games". Rather, a purchasable unlock code could be required for any game bought second-hand (e.g. $5). I can understand their point of view seeing how game stores like GS make a killing on pre-owned games without a single cent going back to the publisher/developer.

I'm still amazed at how people gobbled up the "entitlement" thing. I blame "games journalism", I've seen that buzzword repeated many times in recent articles. They parrot what the companies say, and gamers in turn parrot what the journalists say. We are customers, it's our job to be entitled pricks who demand to be pampered or else we'll buy from another company. That's how you have healthy competition.

Well, when you buy an used game, you're not buying another, new copy. For them, it's simple enough.

Games journalism lol. What's lacking is moral courage. It's easier to go along to get along.

The customer is always right. Now? Not so much. People perpetuating these type of practices don't help matters:

Publisher: We're going to charge you extra for on-disc DLC from now on.
    Customer:
Publisher: We're going to prevent you from selling your investment; you don't own it!
    Customer:
Publisher: And we've kidnapped your dog.
    ...
    Customer: Yeh. Sounds reasonable.
Broad strokes I know but the trend lines are there and publishers continue unabated.

I can see this happening in games where people will play a lot of campaign, like in between missions have a couple quick commercials. Or if you are online matchmaking in between games when you usually get a minute or so to adjust your classes, look at stats etc. I can see them putting 30 sec commercials in those slots.
