It's working perfectly now. And yes, I tried it in his computer multiple times on different power sources and SATA ports. Then I put it into my caddy and still nothing. Now today, it works. All his data is on there too.

It's not clicking or making any noise at all. It's powering up every damn time now as well. I think I'll make his day later by going and putting it back in his computer.
