I really am not too surprised the Wii doesn't like it.
Neither of my PS3s will recognize my external drives. It doesn't matter how I format them, or if I have a small partition, they refuse to read them.

I was switching back and forth between the external drive and the USB drive, trying FAT32, then NTFS, and then finally WBFS. That's 6 different combinations, and, as luck would have it, it was the 6th try (WBFS on the USB Drive) that worked

I'm not sure whether I'll pick up a cheap (real) external drive, or a huge USB drive later.

Isn't that how it always is though?

I doubt I would ever need that much space. I mean, we're talking Wii games here, remember?

I have too much data on them to bother trying .

I already have 400gb used but you can set it up 50/50 with the right programs.

I can reformat the external HD back to NTFS and use it to store all the ISOs I grab, and just quickly transfer them to USB whenever someone wants to play a specific game. Seems reasonable enough to me

Do I need to make a folder on my USB drive called "wbfs" to properly use WBFS files?

I'm transferring Scarface off the USB to my computer, and it made me create a "wbfs" folder. I haven't been able to get wbfs files to load onthe Wii yet, and I think the problem might be I have no folder for it.

EDIT: I can convert them to ISO is that makes things easier...

Also, the 1kb 'disc.info' file. Is that important?
