Isn't that like $800 for us Yanks? It has potential based on what you would want for it. Sadly though, since it has no independent graphics card, it has no real potential for upgrading or for anything past 2005. It's basically a mobile A4-3300 with better cache (a lot better).

Well then you sir, are a winner. There are other laptop cpus that are quad core, 1.6 ghz, but that can be slow depending on your programs being able to use multi-core. If you do a quick check and can confirm the core usage, that'll make the best choice for ya.

My current laptop is powerful enough for me, but it overheats all the time and is an Acer.

AMD Athlon X2 1.9GHz dual core, 3GB DDR2 RAM and a 250GB HDD.
