EDIT: providing my son doesn't decide he wants it. He got my LG Ally when I upgraded to the Play

None of those seem like much of an upgrade. Wait for something raw like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus or Galaxy S3. Or the HTC One X or One S. Or, you could get the Incredible 2 or the Droid X2 and send me your Xperia Play. Wait, nvm. I have VM, I don't think I can flash the Xperia to my baseband.

Those are just the sub-$100 options. I can get top of the line phones too, but I'm way too cheap to pay even $200 for a phone.

Also, I hate the onscreen keyboard that the Xperia has. I know the iPhone is also onscreen, but it is SO much better.
Texting is a pain in the ass on the Xperia...buttons are way too small.
