For all the hype certain cards are getting my favourite card spoiled so far is Tamiyo. Griselbrand will have a decent sized impact. He might see some fringe standard play but I think he could be a house in Modern. Unless of course they ban him because it's Modern. See: ban everything format.
It depends on the environment for if controlly control is viable (depending on how the rest of this set breaks I could see some form of rakdos returning, especially if Timely Reinforcements isn't reprinted in M13, and it looks like some form of GW will be viable as well) but if you can get her to ultimate the game is over. I want to be playing her whenever I can, because...dat art.
I also like Desolate Lighthouse and Craterhoof Behemoth in the right decks. See: Behemoth as a game ender in Birthing Pod.

Card games come and go but Magic has always stuck around. Of course Magic has been in a boom lately. The slow down and regular scheduling of set releases has been a big help I think.
