Wyrm, Oracle text is the specific wording of a card, it's to account for any changes in the game mechanics/wording when they add new keywords and stuff. Essentially, it's rule wording, it overrides printed text.

More importantly: why are you posting here, and not making an EDH deck? That goes for all of you.

It wouldn't stop Stern Judge because he is loss of life. Reversing the Karma damage is more than enough though.

Creatures are creature permanents once they enter the battlefield, the text changes were unnecessary in this case.
