I had to do a 3 point turn, and reverse around a corner. It was near the end of my test and I'd only done the 3 point turn, so I thought he'd forgotten about the 2nd manoeuvre. He made me park up and reverse around a corner into the steepest hill I've ever seen. I thought there's no way I'm fucking this up 5 minutes from the end of the test.

I borrowed my bosses car to go to a driving test once. On the way there I skidded off the road through a snow drift and ended up in a ditch. Luckily there was no damage and called a tow truck to pull me out. Made it to the test. And I failed.

It's not called a 3 point turn any more. It's called a turn in the road.

I've not yet reversed around a corner. Is it tricky? Am I naive for thinking it looks pretty easy?

Actually I consider it good luck. No damage, Boss didn't find out and I didn't get hurt.

Reversing around a corner isn't too bad if you take it slowly. My instructor taught me to look out of the rear passenger window and wait for the kerb to disappear before turning. I just reverse in and drive out now without thinking.

Edit: If you think you're going to hit the kerb, you can drive back out and try again. You'll only get a minor for it, rather than a fail for hitting the kerb.

Yeah, sounds horrible that hitting the kerb = instant fail.

My clutch control is good the instructor says, my reversing speed/speed in the turn in the road is perfect.

Can't wait to get a car. I'm so going to be a stereotypical 20-something adding a huge arse set of speakers and subwoofers.
