Suppose I best finish Fear 2 off.
I've never had to look for a job before. I have many friends though that say it's a proper pain in the arse.
Sucks bro.
thought i'd share my experiences with applying for jobs.
I walked around for an entire day with my laptop and applied to 20 jobs in one area, some online, some in paper, all of them which I followed up for in person multiple times. I walked in with a professional attitude, khaki pants and a shirt and tie. Used my people skills, sold myself.
At the end of one week only 3 places called back, one of them a local hole in the wall japanese restaurant I didn't even expect would call back. 3 out of 20 places in professional attire and attitude, mind you I had employee of the month, salesman of the year, experience in cashiering, general labor, seniority (worked at same job for 2.5 years all through high school as far as seniority goes) and good attendance, retail experience at a nonprofit type of place (Goodwill), frozen foods and grocery stock, product demos with a history of top sales, plenty of customer service compliments...
yea it's frickin tough to get a job nowadays, good luck. whore craigslist, walk around and ask every possible place, have near full to full availability, be able to work holidays, always follow up, do everything you can and you might have a fighting chance against all the other dozens of applicants.
Some regulars won minor prizes in the previous contest we had. The big prize, a 3DS, went to the Middle East, I had to send it there since MasJ bought it from Amazon.uk and they didn't ship it there.
But, yeah, anyone can win, this time the chances to win are bigger than ever.
