Default PSP bound for the grave?

The Vita has been out for a while now both in Japan and America, Australia etc. Obviously the Vita is superior in terms of hardware and playability but how long does PSP have left to live? Sales of the Vita have plummeted in Japan fairly quickly, to the point where PSP sales overshadow Vita sales.

In my opinion, PSP still has a ways to go before it becomes a relic for old-school gamers like the N64 or GBA, what with CFW and ISO's floating around but what do you think?

I'd say the PSP has about a year left. Most PSP games can be bought and downloaded to the Vita, so that hurts the PSP in the long run.

Yeah it's too bad, there are quite a few very interesting rpg titles coming out in Japan over the next year or so but because it's never been big here and the vita is out I don't think we will see many of these get brought over. :/

Yeah I have to agree that it doesn't have much longer It had quite a few good games but all the best can be bought for the vita as well. So people are going to be moving onto the Vita, but here in the USA I believe they aren't doing the transfer program so people might just want to keep their PSP's. Though I think most if not all the psp developers will be moving to vita and abandoning the psp in favor of better graphics, IDK that's just me.

I just bought one, and I wish I got one sooner. I like it more than my DS. I think it has little time left, despite being a good system. Unfortunately, systems become obsolete at a faster rate than twenty years ago. It seems that as soon as you get the "newest" system, the newer one comes out. It's sad because I really like my PSP, and I don't want to spend $300 plus on a Vita PSP.
I would suggest Dissidia: Final Fantasy- It's a fighting game featuring the heroes/villans from the first ten final fantasy games. It has RPG elements to it and goes into each characters stories in depth. I normally don't play fighting games but I really like this game. I don't have many games for this system yet, but I will suggest more as I get more games.

Pretty much how I feel about it. Only got mine last year. I think the DS probably has a somewhat better library overall, but still.

Care to mention any specific titles? I'd actually be interested in those.

the psp will surely has plenty of life left in it since not all psp games can be downloaded to the Vita and I suppose that most people who have a collection of UMDs will have to keep one to play them unless they want to pay for a game they already own.

Even if I do give in and buy a Vita (a cold day in Hell when that happens, given how SONY is seriously putting the screws to the consumer), I'll still keep my PSP. Because if SONY thinks I'll rebuy my entire damn library of 30+ games, they're more sorely mistaken than hipsters who still somehow think Apple invented the touch screen AND voice recognition software.

    I love my PSP.

I Dont mind if sales kinda slow to a halt on the PSP although if it continues on for another year that's great too. since soon enough everyone will be selling there psp stuff dirt cheap to just get rid of it and ill be there to grab the bargains

(I Already lurk on eBay for PSP Bargains and have over 50 legit games )

i agree with this, PSP still getting some good titles in Japan compared to ds at time 3DS just released, they only get a few good titles and that's from Nintendo itself

PSP and DS both have strong libraries imo.

    *rummaging for links*

Some have already come out in Japan, I was out of it yesterday. But I know I was thinking of specific games.

Shining Blade is gonna be Vita I guess...

Already out and never being brought to NA: http://www.play-asia.com/Heroes_Phan...n-70-4dfn.html

    Probably out now: http://andriasang.com/comyrf/

In fact it comes out in a month actually: http://www.play-asia.com/Conception_...n-70-4jte.html

Related since this will likely be the Vita game that pushes me into buying a Vita if NISA brings it over: http://andriasang.com/comzqk/gust_vita_game/

This post was kind of a mess, w/e.

Cheers for that list. I knew about Shining Blade, been looking forward to it. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be on PSP. Unless the official site is lying.

Thinking about Heroes Phantasia is depressing every time. With a Vita release, Shining Blade might have a chance at an English release .

I also just bought middle of last year because it was finally at a price I could afford. I love the library and have already bought 23 games for it. Sadly I have to agree with everyone else, it's days are now numbered. It's a real shame too because once I had it in my hand I was floored by what an incredible device it really is. Before buying it was still rocking a GBA (I swear I'm always behind, lol) so needless to say I gushed a bit when I turned it on and read about everything it does. I will say I think if anyone is looking for new titles they'll need to keep an eye on publishers like Atlus, XSEED, Aksys, NIS, and the like. Otherwise I'm on the same boat as Kouen and jumping on the deals since many titles will be going for cheap as time goes on... except Riviera, can't find it cheap to save my life. Personally, I won't jump on the Vita until Persona 4 The Golden though.
