Cheap? That's how much an unboxed console sells for these days. Well, £130 + delivery would've been the ideal price, but I wanted a quick sale so I could grab the Microsoft points for the Gears DLC ASAP.

They only sell for $160 now? Not worth it to get DLC if you ask me .

I'm usually pretty tolerant of shooters of different sorts, even if they're nothing special (MW series and BO) or just plain terrible (Hour of Victory is terrible).

Dead Space is probably an example of a good shooter that I found annoying because of the blocked vision aspect.
Overall I really like it, but it's kind of put me off grabbing the sequel
It's was okay, the crappy scare attempts in both games pissed me off. Walking along and then, bam, one of those tentacles pops out and you have to blast away at it.

Scare attempts in games and movies always fail for me really.
If I was a kid playing some stuff now it might be different, I dunno.........but when I was young it was pretty difficult to get scared by Space Invaders or Pacman coin-ops.
Some of the seedy characters hanging around the arcades looked creepy though

The crawl sequences in the second game are completely pointless.

And once I had played that.... No exclusives, online service sucks, no one talks anyway. Controller is horrible. Mandatory installs.

I beat dead space recently, it wasn't remotely frightening I enjoyed it but I'm not sure if I would bother with the second game since I kept putting off playing dead space for months.

Dead Space 2 is good, but it's a much more linear version of 1 really.

Yeah, I played it up until the meteor shower business.....and failed to protect the ship
So then I gave it a break for a while......probably like a month or something.
Played it again and just finished it off

That happens to me sometimes, usually because I'm tired.

I thought the first one was quite linear to begin with, not that I'm complaining about linearity in a game, in dead space it was fine for me.

It happens even when I like a game, I just put it down for a while and never go near it again.

Well in the original Dead Space you could kind of wander around a bit. In Dead Space 2 you run forward and shoot things until the end. That's about it.
