Wow. There really isn't much for gaming news.Especially when you don't give a shit about David Jaffe or Double-Fine.

I was playing Skyrim, but it started to feel like I was playing a glitched cheatfest in which you literally had to avoid doing certain things to not have an overpowered character that makes the game a boring godmode RPG. Since Skyrim has so many similarities with Fallout 3, including voice actors, I found the inability to target specific body parts with arrows(or melee weapons) and overall less gory battles to be censored and dumbed down. So, in retrospect I realized how good Fallout 3 was after playing Skyrim.
edit
Arrows and melee weapons doing the same damage no matter where they hit makes Skyrim a dumbed down medieval fantasy version of Fallout 3. Both games are very similar engine-wise but Skyrim made me appreciate Fallout 3 more. Instead of outdoing Diablo, Skyrim copied it and also didn't play test the resulting glitch filled cheatfest enough. Skyrim has sprinting though, that's something Fallout needs.

I've had quite a few people recommend New Vegas to me, and most said the gameplay just felt better and that it was a more enjoyable game, but I don't really feel like jumping back into a Fallout world any time soon. Then again, I never played the first four games, so I'm really basing my entire impression of the Fallout series off FO3, which really isn't fair. There are just so many other games on my list of games to buy that interest me so much more, that it's hard to care about jumping back into a series where the only iteration I've played I didn't enjoy that much.
I really should prioritize that list... I think it's up to forty games now, or will be once I add everything coming out this year...
I just got the second and third Assassin's Creed games. Finished the story of AC2 this morning and started ACB immediately afterward. Tomorrow, I don't intend to play it at all. All FITAN VIDYA tomorrow. I gotta get my fucking money's worth in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.
In regards to the transition from AC2 to ACB: FUCK YOU, UBISOFT. There is no reason for you to have taken away my hard-earned Altair Armor. Nor is there any reason for you to have taken away abilities that I have earned. Why can't I jump up while climbing anymore? Why do I have to relearn this shit?
Also, apparently, you have to rebuild Rome and all that shit, but there is something I noticed missing: Hookers. Need more hookers. In AC2, I went nowhere without a coterie of whores, and goddammit, I refuse to do it now. Now that I've built the Thieves' Guild, a blacksmith, a tailor, a doctor, and upgraded the bank, I am going to find a place to build a brothell. I hope.
No city is complete without succubi.
Yeah, Fallout 3 was developed by Bethesda's in-house development team. Whereas New Vegas was developed by Obsidian Entertainment. Which is made up of former Black Isle employees. That probably had a large hand in making it feel a bit more like the old-school Fallout games.
