I read on the paper's website that last night's call for the house fire came in at 1:40AM. I heard all the sirens pull up at 2:25AM. It's a volunteer fire department, so I understand these guys had to get up, get dressed and get to the fire station before they could get the fire trucks out and to the scene. I also understand that in the event of a fire, my house will burn down before they get here.

Not comforting.
