    Cheers for that one Cookie.

There is new news on this Final Fantasy X Remake, yes i said remake, according to several sources it was announced that it will not just simply be a HD remaster, rather it will be a complete remake with extra story lines and plot twists. It has also been announced that for all you blitzball haters that you may not need to do it anymore. While this is great news it has been said that it is only in its early stages of development so i think we will be looking at a 2013 release, enough time for me to get a PS3

Love Final Fantasy X, not sure if i'll like a remaster though, some of the things in the game, mainly the dodgy graphics, are what made it good.
Such as Tidus' laugh, so bad it's great.
If what Bennie said about changes to the story is true aswell, i hope they don't change much. One of my favourite storylines of the FF series

im personally hoping that they do not either, it was a great game, my favourite after number VIII, and your one of the first people i know to say that you like Tidus's laugh, im also hoping that they will do something with FFX-2 i would say an extra story but im not sure what they could do since the ending
    Spoiler warning:
shows Tidus coming back from the dead
doesnt really leave much else to happen since her journey was to find out what happened to him and that sphere

lol SQUARE going under XD they have far to broad a market and a broad game catelog to really ever get to that point. It would take a lot, an immense amount of poor decision making to put the company in that position.

I always hated X. The story is boring and predictable, the presentation uninteresting and the combat system is nothing more than rock-paper-scissors. That said, I could care less about the game.
I've somehow lost hope in Square Enix, they don't produce quality games anymore but try to print money instead.

Almost everyone has at least one Final Fantasy game that they hate, don't bash the company just because they're remaking a game you didn't like, although the only recent game from them I played was FF XIII. This is all just my opinion, but I loved the battle system in X.

The problem's not that one game. The problem is, that they are only producing cooky cutter games nowadays, with little to no value at all.
Maybe it's just nostalgia and I want a Terranigma remake something like Terranigma badly.

Um,.. when you see that a company make the wrong decision and break such a good game like FFXI with a mediocre expansion called "Abyssea" and players like me (7 years playing it)run away from it to a greater fiasco called FFXIV (played it for 1 year plus alpha and beta and definitely is terrible with all the patches,upgrades,etc... waiting for april with ffxv in disguise: ffxiv 2.0), when you see ppl saying that FFXIII was a decent game and not excellent like the SE we used to know and now this XIII-2`s reviews are decent and not wonderful like it should be... I wonder: what`s going on with SE nowadays. The good thing is,.. it`s make you going back and play old good games. thx for being here emuparadise :3 . I would really like to play that remake, FFX is one of my favs (my top1 is FFVI) it will be using the FFXIII`s engine?

I'm kinda looking forward to FFX remake but I think I would most definitely enjoy an HD remaster trilogy of 7,8, and 9 moreso

i too played the beta of XI, if im honest they made a very bad move trying to break into the MMO market the same with FXIV from what ive heard its not been the best of games that SE have made, ill admit that they have made some poor decisions which is one reason why i think they are remaking one of their most popular titles, grabbing a massive profit from it due to the small amount that needs doing to it

that would be nice but as was previously discussed it would take far to much work and funding to make a trilogy remake of 7 8 & 9 due to how old the games are, they would require significantly more work than X will to remake which im sure you understand why they made this move

i too do not own a PS3 but i need to invest into 1 since FFXII-versus is a PS3 exclusive and i have a funny feeling that FFX remake will be aswell

The only Final Fantasy game I've ever finished is Crystal Chronicles on the Gamecube. I didn't have a Playstation or Playstation 2 back then... But I do have access to a PS2 now!

I've got access to FFX and FFXII... Too bad FFVII is so rare. Isn't it on the Playstation Network, at least?

Yes, it is. FF V to IX are all available via PSN.

well there has been some contridictory information around the internet recently regarding this remake/remaster, in a recent interview at the launch of FF XIII-2 Square Enix's producer Shinji Hashimoto has stated that it is a remaster not a remake, this contridicts a previous statement saying that this will be a remake from the ground so we are still yet to know any further details about this game yet but keep your eyes peeled

    emph. mine

Even more than generic issues with being older and probably having less compatibility with newer tools, the bigger issue is the fact that they outright don't have a lot of the original assets / source code. I remember reading an article about how this was one of the major issues they faced when creating the PC ports of 7 & 8, so I'd imagine it's even worse now.
