I solved pretty much all my problems on ME2 insanity by just taking a break. More often than not, when I came back to try again I magically completed the difficult area in question on the first try.

Yeah, I didn't really gel with OS X Firefox when I first got my Macbook, plus Safari has that neat little Downloadhelper-style app built in. Then whenever I used Windows 7 via Bootcamp I couldn't use Firefox or Chrome anymore because I was expecting them to behave like Safari, so had to switch there as well.

I believe this, I went through insanity as an Infiltrator, relied HEAVILY on my squad mates who had Warp.Soldier.

Really my play through went something like: Warp/overload + headshot with the Widow sniper rifle, ad nauseum. It got a lot easier once I invested into heavy warp ammo.

You're playing it all wrong, bro. Alright, look.
Soldier class? Concussive Shot, Disrupt Ammo, Adrenaline Rush. Max those out. Evolve however you want.
You have to actually direct your team members into cover and have them use skills on enemies. Especially shit like Scions and Harbinger.
Ammo is scarce, so ConcShot is your friend for all enemies, even those with armor/shields/barriers. It does damage no matter what with little to no recovery.
Best team (according to the internet) is Loyal Miranda with maxed out Cerberus Officer, and loyal Grunt with maxed out Pure Krogan. Miranda buffs the stats of the squad and Grunt pretty much never dies if you upgraded his health.
