Well Vista and 7 are basically the same operating system, just 7 has a nicer UI and doesn't hog as much RAM.

Indeed, since I want to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. modded and I can't as it always quits me off the game, because that too is a memory hog.

This laptop came with Windows 7 Home Premium with a load of crapware. So, installing a clean Win7 ultimate on here is fine, right? I still have a licence.

I actually have a genuine copy of Windows Vista Ultimate which I bought when I spent nearly £2000 on a PC back in 2007. Never had a genuine XP, though.
