The only thing I can stand from 16bit games is the music. I just put a game on and listen to the music then turn it off. I can't be arsed with how simple they are, and how difficult they are.

Although I must admit that 2D sprite based games have aged so much more gracefully than early 3D titles.

Did it as an auction. Obviously if he doesn't pay within a couple more days I'll have to cancel it. I thought it was standard to pay within 72 hours so that's what I'm giving him.

Also, yes, Playstation > SNES and Genesis

What I find amusing is that with Virgin Media (if I were paying) I could phone up right now and ask for 20meg and they'll have it sped up for me within the next couple of hours. But because it's a free upgrade I have to wait until July.

Yeah I was in California. I'm sure there's decent places in LA but I didn't get to visit the city for long and didn't know where to look at the time.

I'd mostly be sticking to cartridge only. Just want some original hardware and a nice selection of games to play, I'm not too bothered about boxes/manuals anymore. More interested in building a decent collection on the cheap.

Given the money/interest I would probably collect for the Saturn and N64. By "collect" I mean buy games I'm interested in. I really don't understand "full collections". All those Fifas and other shitty sports games you'll never play...

But I know I'd not play the games and end up selling the games/consoles etc to buy a car or something. So yeah, I might as well just forget about games.

It's getting harder and harder to do, lots of people with high CL listings or just throwing it on ebay and doing some price research. Kind of have to get pretty lucky now. Almost any shop will be overpriced as well. So it's thrift stores, mom and pop pawns and then hope to get lucky with garage/yard sales. Best 2 I can remember for me was a NES with zappers, 25+ boxed games for $25 and then a bunch of rare SNES games (inc Earthbound, Dracula X and Chrono Trigger), multiple SNES and NES consoles for under $20 (2 SNES and 3 NES iirc), I had a big haul that day in general, including a SNES with the Superscope Guncon and some games for $10. The first one was at least 5 years ago, the SNES games and such were this last summer. Lots of other deals as well but nothing that would compare with those 2.

All the good Saturn games cost at least $60.

    Game's website has been hacked.

    Gives no fucks.

Then I remembered I bought one fucking game from them, with my bank card. Yeah, great. A game I didn't even want or play. Thanks Dungeon Siege III.

If I was collecting for the Saturn it'd have to be Japanese, so the games would probably be a bit more expensive/harder to find than SNES or Genesis titles.

Japanese versions are probably cheaper than the US ones. Aside from the random shmups that are crazily priced.

And that is the story of how Inferno got his identity stolen.

If anything they'll just want to empty my bank account of its current balance: £2.00

Well they can't get credit or anything like that with my name. So it's pretty useless information.

Damn, those were some good finds. The best I ever got was probably a boxed Sega Mega Drive with 8 games, all in brand new condition, for about £20. There was also this really awesome stall in the market I used to visit fairly regularly. Over a couple of years I got a boxed Sega Saturn with Street Fighter Alpha for £20, a boxed Super Mario Kart for £10 and a handful of mint PS1 games for less than half what they would have cost for beat up copies on eBay. Miss that place.
