cant play Metal Slug - MAME

im having probs playing metal slug 1,3,4,5. im using Mame v144 and they dont load. ive played them before using an older version of mame but i dont remember which, also tried winkawaks v162 and out of the 70 roms i have only loads 5 and none are metal slug. i re-downloaded the games from this site and the emulator and they still dont work, does someone know of a version of mame that does?

apparently all i needed was the neogeo bios, mame seems to work now. still downloaded fba, ive never used it though i still cant play 3 & 4 on meme winkawaks or Final burn aplha and the graphics on 1 are all messed up. thanks though
