well i dont play porno games unless u count duke nukem 3d and i dont even though its an early first person shooter with pornographic things on it.

So playing through Deus Ex: HR for the pacifist achievement, I may have killed a dude with the stun gun, I will light myself on fire if this is true.

The stun gun is fine to use, as long as the guy has the Zzz symbol when you interact with the body then you're all good. It's the tranquilliser rifle that is glitched and often (if you shoot people in the head) will kill them rather than knock them unconscious. I played the whole game without a single lethal takedown that I knew of and didn't get the trophy. I was pissed. Only thing it could have been was that damn tranquilliser rifle.

It turns out that the symbols have a tendency to glitch, as long as you get the "merciful soul" bonus you're good. There are a lot of ways for the enemies to die without you actually killing them, especially during the final boss fight.
