Can't say I'm surprised with Manchester City. Their campaign was slow off the mark thanks to them not having much experience on the European stage, and they had a brutal group to contend with. Think they'll be a force in Europe next year, though, if their current league form is anything to go by. :3
As for United... *shrugs* The English commentators here were talking down Basel and calling them lucky, but I thought they played a good game.

And Manchester United were pretty complacent, and poor in front of goal. It's always a shame to see a classic team take a tumble, but the fact that they were even struggling in a group where their main rivals were a good but not great Benfica side and the Swiss champions says a lot about the inexperience of some of their young players. I feel sorry for some of the teams in the Europa League who thought they were in with a chance, though. Now they have one of the biggest clubs in the world and one of the richest clubs in the world thrown into the mix. :'D
Also, Shaqiri looked classy as always.

Hard to believe he's only just turned twenty being that he outshone more experienced players on both sides. I think it's only a matter of time 'til he gets his big move. :3
