Youngster. Windows ME was basically Win98 with some terrible showstopping bugs. It would barely last 20 minutes without a BSOD. Win2k though was the OS of choice back in the day. It would never break down. You could idle in IRC with an uptime of weeks and months and it'd still be just as responsive as the moment you booted. But a lot of games weren't compatible with it and would only run on the Win9x kernel. XP was basically Win2k but a consumer version with a cartoon skin tacked onto it.

I broke a mouse during the brief time I used it by smashing it on the desk. For some reason I thought the mouse was to blame, not the OS.

I used 98 and 98SE (same shit eh) Loads, but never had the pleasure of using ME/2000. I just vaguely remember hearing ME was balls and that 2000 was better.

If it wasn't for my early exposure to WinME I think that I would never have gained those early necessary troubleshooting skills to become the support technician I am today...

Nothing wrong with Vista. The problem with Vista was legacy hardware and lack of driver support. As soon as the drivers and hardware became commonplace it just got repackaged as Win7

I never had an issue with Vista either. But apparently it was the devil.

Mind you as soon as 7 became available I'd never use Vista again.

True. I haven't used Vista since Win7 came out either, but I had to use it for a couple of years as XP couldn't address all the memory my system had.

My old laptop came with Windows Vista, and I used it for around a year, rather than trying to get XP on it.

Chances are XP would've sucked balls on it. I can't believe I'm here typing on a Linux based system. This is what supporting Windows at work does to you.

I have WP7 and android dual booting on my backup Hd2. Needless to say when that gets switched on, I always choose android from the bootloader.
