Oh, sorry. No, I'm pretty sure it's not, unless the game says "Steam" under DRM (mostly Steam exclusives). It's a separate vendor entirely, but I tend to prefer them to Steam since you don't need to install any of their software or stuff, and you can keep the install files even after you're done with them to back up or such. No game achievements, though, beyond that really weird achievement system they recently put in for how many games you buy and what online store features you use.
    No shill, no shill.

Ah, that sounds interesting. I hadn't picked it up originally since the game itself seemed pretty typical from the screenshots, but it seems like it might be pretty good, or at least funny. It's half downloaded already, so it's almost there.

No reasoning, just the site being poorly designed or something. After you enter your details and press continue, all the fields just go blank like you did something wrong (except you didn't).

Oh well. It probably could've been sorted out by emailing them or something, but it's not such a big deal. I already have a huge backlog to work on so it's not like I have time to play HR right now.

Well, it is pretty typical. Although the magic system is pretty interesting. It came out before Recettear, too, as you probably know. But it's overall really charming and I just can't be mad at it, even after dying to a boss.

    Ah ok.

Quick question, has anyone ever ordered used off gamestop online and received a copy with the proper artwork and the manual?

They give this crock as their pre-owned guarantee: This pre-owned product has been carefully tested and is guaranteed to work. May not include original box and manual.

At their prices I'm surely not interested in a disc only copy.

I'm pretty comfortable with Steam but I can understand the people who want to load their game applications and start playing right away. Unless it's Battlefield 3, since you need to load Origin, Google Chrome to use the battlelog which has the link to launch Battlefield 3. Seriously.

I'm downloading it to check it out (it's no different as when I used to go to Blockbuster to rent games, I was basically paying a fee to test them. ) Which is not a bright idea, since I bought The Witcher already and I'm playing New Vegas.

    Used?
Yep, it actually just came today.
It always has that stuff when new.

For the most part GS goes out of their way to make you want to buy new.

I suppose I could always return stuff in-store if it was incomplete but it feels like such a hassle.

Glad you had a pleasant experience. I think when I get these games I'm looking at in the future I'll just get them somewhere else.

For anyone interested Gamestop is running a B2G2 on ps2 and gamecube and from what I understand it lasts until they get rid of all their stock.

Oh, ew. I was a little put out when Sims 3 made me install Origin, even when I didn't actually need it to play, and if it hadn't been for Steam exclusives, I'd never have picked that up either. That just sounds really outré.

I might "acquire" it as well sometime in the future, because there's no demo for it on Steam as far as I know. I just want to see how it runs on my PC, because I've seen a number of people reporting performance issues on the Steam forums.

I know that situation. I was playing New Vegas last summer. Then August came, and Xenoblade happened. So much for New Vegas.

I bought 2 used games from GS, One came incomplete, the other came complete.
    Used is based on chance.

A cracking group released a 'crack' to avoid Origin and just, you know, launch either the campaign or the multiplayer as an application. I feel tempted to use it, but I'm sure the evil EA overlords won't like it.

Same reason why I acquired Dead Island, no demo for it either. :/

I played Skyward Sword once, I think.

Makes sense, not worth risking for me.

One of the games that make me feel bad for having to pirate it. It's impossible to find here. P3 as well, but luckily someone smuggled it for me from the US.

That and DQ8, some day I'll correct this mistake.
