Which also ends up giving you an obscenely broken special ability.
I like the idea of having a multiplayer mode but the training assassins bit seems kind of dull tbh.

It's funny because I was completely expecting Desmond to kick some Templar ass in AC2 because he had left the facility but besides one fight he pretty much does nothing so I can get behind the idea of him doing more.

So if you're looking for super difficult gameplay, Brotherhood isn't it.
Also the combat in the first game was ridiculously overpowered and at the start of the second game is somewhat evenly matched but then also becomes ridiculously overpowered aswell so I don't really mind.

It's not really the focus of the game. It's just something to do between missions. I often cued up a bunch of missions for my assassins, then ran off to explore or whatever, then stopped off at another Assassin's Guild once they were done/I was done. It's more of a side thing. You can get through the game without doing any of it (you have to recruit like one assassin as part of the plot as I recall. Everything besides that was optional). It was mostly just another thing to take care of every once in a while during the typical stop off at my "main base" (check/change equipment, check nearby shops, restock on items, pick up paycheck, send off assassins)

He doesn't get the chance to do any combat this time around either if memory serves. He does however get out of the chair and get to walk around a bit more/converse with people/brush up on current events. There's a temple-style area that he gets to explore as well near the end of the game for instance. It felt like there was more to do compared to AC2 which just had a bit at the beginning, a tiny segment half way, then a short fight sequence right at the end.

This goes way beyond any of the others. Seemingly they're focusing less on Ezio: The Man and more Ezio: The Leader. He gets to just point at whatever he wants to die and let other people handle the work. Provided you don't do that, you still have an insane upgrade on the counter system that allows you to chain critical dozens of enemies. And that's before bringing up the crossbow or the 2 handed weapon sheath.

Whenever you get a kill (whether from countering or breaking guard) you can now in the direction of another enemy and automatically kill them.

And then you get to do it again.

    And again.

    And again.

    And again.

And you can also get your sub weapon in on the game for EVEN MORE HILARITY.

    So basically, this happens:

That is hilariously overpowered particularly for a weapon which was only meant to be used for discrete kills and not in combat against many people but hey, it's assassins creed what are you gonna do.

The funny part is, every weapon works that way.

    All of them.

Ever see a man murder a hundred people with a broom?

    How about a shovel?

Actually in AC2, with the regular sword and against the weakest of troops (roof archers for instance), the counter would pretty much always one hit kill.

Enter the crossbow. A one hit kill against the weakest of troops provided you can see them.

Because Ezio doesn't have to put up with anyone's bullshit.

Been playing ludicrous amounts of Magic lately. Seems I'm going to the Pro Tour Qaulifiers if I can find a date somewhere. Probably going to be awful, but oh well.

Yeah, that. I've been totally spoiled over the last couple of years playing games that you can pretty much get through blind if you're semi-good. I forgot what it's like to play something that doesn't go down without a fight. :'D So much death. So much weary laughter.

It's funny because I'm getting around to those lately as well.

Now I have to ask myself whether or not trying to get through MM10 without getting hit is worth it.

    I'm currently leaning towards "no".

    Oh, but cute family moment.

I was playing MM10 earlier. My nephew (total FPS junkie) started commenting on how "easy" it was and how he feels that way because he plays harder games. To note, he spent the last several weeks with MW3 and AC:R.

So I let him try it.

While I was about halfway through Wily Stage 3.

I think that just about says everything that needs to be said.
