FIFA Street 3. I loved FIFA Street 2, and made the mistake of selling it before I bought 3. I Immediately regretted it, sold it, and bought 2 again.

Also, I might get called an idiot for this, but Mass Effect. With all the hype, I was expecting something amazing, but I personally didn't enjoy it that much.

I think I may of said this before on another similar thread-but it needs to be said again. If not no other reason than as a warning: do not bother paying for final fantasy online (the newest one, XIV i believe). It is literally not worth the time it takes to install it. Pretty but not awesome, with no actual content-no real missions, no goals, no-anything. there is no guidance, and few players. i have seen many free mmos that could run rings around it. literally the biggest let down in gaming history, considering the excellent reputation and quality you'd excpect not just fron enix but from final fantasy series specifcally. Everything that makes you love final fantasy is missing from that game. Sad, sad, sad.

Those 'Outbreak' RE games for PS2 were a bit of a let down. I fiddled with them for a bit, but I'm not really 100% sure what the hell is going on....

Cant really complain too badly, though, as they were $2 each at the pawn shop.

I don't think I've finished the second one. The controls feel a bit awkward, even for a RE game, even though the auto-aim definitely helps.

Yeah i am a MASSIVE R:E fan but just couldnt get into the outbreak games.

Speaking of Resi. I was WAY dissapointed with R:E 5 what a pile of shit it was. If they had just kept it without the co-op computer (but maybe able to play with a friend) it would have been a much better game.

GET OUT OF THE WAY YA STUPID BITCH IM TRYING TO SHOOT. NONONONO DONT DIE ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. restart chapter

Engle, Linky - Yeah, agreed. I havent played RE 5 yet, though not into the sunlight motif nor the 'co-op' thing. I think, personally, that horror games fail when they are presented as co-op.
Isnt the whole pont of these to create the atmosphere of tension and dread, lonliness?

From what I have seen of these, many of 'em sacrifice scares and frights for butchery, becoming more 'action' than 'horror'. The PS2 version of The Thing turned me off due to the co-op thing.

You should've played the PC version of The Thing. No co-op, only 1 player and it's just awesome and back then I didn't even watch the film.
Unfortunately not many games retained the psychological welfare of your NPC companions, it was quite innovative. RE5 was indeed, as I said thousands of times, ruined by the co-op.
The only way that the co-op has been perfect was Dead Rising 2 and that was a third party developer, now absorbed after the success the game did. Dead Space actually is more of a sequel to RE4, than the actual RE5.
First of all, RE4 was going to be scary not with much action, but actually scary, psychological. Of course they didn't go for that route, otherwise it would've been too much like Silent Hill. So, I think Dead Space went for the psychological horror route RE4 was taking, or at least influenced by it.
And on this rather "small" derail, I apologize.

Haha nah man, you can even play it on a crappy laptop now. Trust me you'll find it somewhere for cheap. It would be good that a few 2000 and more games to be emulated or ported on portables. (Simcity 3000 has received a bloody good port on iPhone and Android).
Now for the disappointing port of the year, goes to Duke Nukem 3D for Android. It stinks. Rubbish controls, and the levels have been modified.

As of things I've recently purchased, I'd have to say Brink and Homefront were the two worst letdowns. I was getting burned out after a long string of competitive 6v6 in Team Fortress 2, so I opted in on getting brink with some of my teammates so we could pub together. We grew bored of it within the week, I'd say because the game didn't feel like it was finished, or the gameplay was either too hectic or maps felt too drawn out. Rolling wasn't satisfying, and getting rolled wasn't really a learning experience.
Homefront on the other hand, I haven't finished at all. I played maybe the first three hours, and once I realized all of the dev blogs I'd been keeping up with were lies, I was so disappointed I could not play it.
Homefront has a bright side, though. I traded the Hachimaki promotional hat I got with the game for Earbuds and A "Bill's Hat" in TF2, which I just traded for Skyrim last week.

    Kids and their virtual hats.
