Some kind of data corruption was slowing down the XMB and making the games not run smoothly. Made a back up, low level formatted the HDD and restored a 90% of the backup til it froze (my fault for wanting to back up almost 200 GBs of data). I recovered almost everything, not really noticed anything missing.

Sounds horrible.
