After reading all that, I still want Dark Souls.

Because if Ray can say, "I hate this, and this, and this....but I'm still having fun," I think I can deal with it.

Then again, I only played one section of Demon's Souls before I picked up Dead Space and got distracted, so I'll likely try to finish up what I need to do in that game first, and the price will drop in the meantime.

Especially since it sounds like essentially the same game, but slightly different. Demon's Souls nailed it on the head for me as one of the best games I've played in the last five years. I would definitely like to play a game like that again, but not the exact same game with minor differences.

I agree to an extent, but I do like a bit more variance in the games that I play. Since I just beat Demon's Souls a couple of months ago, and am currently playing through Nier (which is a similar play style, 'cept not nearly as complex or difficult thus far), if I launch into another action/adventure RPG right after this I'll burn out on the genre and won't want to continue anymore. There's a reason that I vary up the genres the way that I do -- it's to keep me interested in playing more. Even going from RE5 to Nier to Uncharted 3 (which is likely the next game I'm going to pick up, unless I power through Nier with enough time to pick up a short game before U3 comes out) has me worried that I might burn out on third-person shooters by the time I'm most of the way through U3.
