I haven't played a Sonic game in years, I intend to keep it that way.
I personally feel that the new Generations game will be halfway decent. Of course my opinion is kinda biased because I didn't really care all that much for the Genesis Sonic games. I freaking loved Adventure 1 and 2 and thought that Unleashed was a halfway decent game as well.
The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.

Whatever Sega has in store for our favorite blue blur im ready to take it on i enjoyed every sonic game to date so im fine with whatever they throw at me.
Generations seems really cool i like how sonic is gonna meet up with his olders self xd i would like to see there awkward sonic style FMV faces.
Layin down enjoying the fun unleashing the power of the sun and capturing them all until I'm done.
I hope the 3DS version of generations is fine. My beef with that version, is both sonics play in 2D, when the 3ds is powerful enough to handle a console port (The Monster Hunters are beastly). Also, Classic also has Modern's moves, like homing attack, ect.

Since people get defensive, and demand proof, lol. Although, what Sonic gens 3DS boasts over the console version, is more playable characters. The 3DS version is also developed by a different team. I was thinking about getting the PC version. Anybody know what happened to that? I like to try all Sonic games, I guess I'm a sucker.
Also, for those that want to pre-order, do it at Toys R Us, or Amazon. They are selling the game for $40 rather than $60!

I thought they did, but I could be wrong.

It is up in the air.
Gameplay had previously listed it for an October release, but have updated it today to a November 4th release.
So there is some hope left.

Oh good. This discussion can only end well. I mean, this is totally a non-controversial topic that never ever sparks arguments whatsoever at all.
Really now, starting a topic saying "okay folks, it's time to either celebrate sonic or to down him completely"?
Why is it time to do so suddenly? I fail to see the point. You either like the series, or you don't, but nothing horrendous has happened in recent history to spark the absolute necessity of this debate. Sonic has certainly had a lot of bad games in recent history, and he's had a few good ones as well - Colours comes to mind. Essentially, trying to spark this debate now makes no sense whatsoever to me.
If you really want to debate something, debate the shameful role I'm consistently put in! ALWAYS defeated by that hyper-annoying rodent, and NEVER allowed to win. All I want is to take over the world for the good of everyone, especially myself!
Dr. Robotnik is just jealous that he doesn't have a game named after him as of late![]()
i like all but a few sonic games, sonic '06 of course was just bad for the most part (interesting plot though, a paradox? and don't get me started on the pathetic fight with Solaris), still play unleashed sometimes, may or may not get gens but from what little of it i've seen it looks pretty interesting and lastly sonic 4... i chose not to buy that cause i can play sonic 1,2,3 & knuckles and get the majority of bosses/levels easier and i think i remember reading reviews that complained about some of the physics
overall a great series like mario but does have some shortcomings in his series like those mentioned above, i do like the idea of having classic and next gen sonic with they're robot counterparts all in the sae game though, if those 4 got in a 2 vs 2 fight it'd be a great fight
I really love the classic Sonic's. Sure, it could be just for Nostalgia, but S3&K is my all time favorite game. They were pretty revolutionary at the time too. Heck, I even loved Sonic R! Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, I had a really hard time getting into. When it first came out, they were pretty sweet.. But now.. I can hardly play them, except for the Sonic stages. I never played any of the Storybook games, or 2006, but Sonic Colors to me was just full of fun. Sonic 4 was even fun, despite it feeling wonky.
I really hate how people bash the new Sonic games. So what if it isn't 2D.. If it's done right, like Sonic Colors (and probably Generations), it will be an amazing game. Look at Mario. I have yet to see Mario purists, who demand everything to be 2D and classic. SEGA has done alot of suck with Sonic, but they seem to be getting the hang of it now. At least with these last couple games!
Also, if you think Sonic fans are bad... Go check out some of the Mega Man fan-wars.
Some games are just better in 2D (Castlevania for the most part, I think Sonic is fine in 3D) but yeah I don't mind the new Sonic games. Would I pay full retail? Hell no and I rarely do for anything in the first place. Can they be a fun way to kill some dead time especially if you only paid like $10? Definitely. Those that download have no right to complain at all (since they have nothing in it) but of course that won't stop them.
Pretty much all fan-bases are retarded. This goes for media franchises and sports franchises.Originally Posted by mushi
