Default video no longer works after clean install

I was running Windows 7 on a hard drive with another laptop and the ePSXe was working just fine on it. That laptop crashed however due to an odd problem so I moved the hard drive to a new better laptop, but had to clean install it so that the laptop would run properly with it (don't know why it would need that). I went fro a 32 bit version to a 64 bit version of Windows 7 and moved my files back onto my hard drive from a friends external but now for some reason I'm getting no video from the games even though all the settings were the same. Is there some kind of compatibility issue or something like that?

ePSXe 1.7.0 works fine on my dual core laptop with windows 7 64bit installed

so it's not a compat issue with the windows 7 64bit

I don't remember if you need extra stuff installed though for ePSXe or not, like C++ or visual basic ect...

I would just download, unpack and run through the setup wizard again. Just backup any savestates and memcards you might have.

The only thing it specifically needs is that zlib.dll file or whatever it's called.

It may have been a registry thing, it's looking for the last version of windows that you had and/or your video drivers may have changed with the different version of windows. Just a thought

It could be lots of things, double check that the bios is still setup in the correct path (portable drives will change drive leter on different systems)

wow I feel stupid for some reason, I had unchecked sound enabled so that i didn't have to listen to the sound from the game, but i enabled it again and now it's showing up, just wish there was a way to keep it disabled and still get video (though don't see why changing that has anything to do with anything but hopefully that's all it was).

    EDIT:-

Well, it's working, but it's going very slow or plays well for a few minutes then freezes and crashes, so it's either my video graphics need updating or something is going on with it that I don't know. Any other suggestions would be appreciated if possible

Zorlon, seems you know how to use edit anyway, so please try to use it to keep yourself from double posting
