So many custom dice sets to choose from .

I think dice is correct here?

As opposed to what, die sets?

Custom sets of dice. How's that?

Finally found a katana for my poor samurai.

Yes, but paladins are frequently assholes in fantasy settings anyway. Moreso when things get dark and they want to eliminate the best possible example of a generic "good guy".

They're a large, hungry, somewhat mindless army that seems to love throwing shitloads of troops at the enemy (Zerg rush much?). I figured the parallel was pretty clear. Just because it has another more obvious Goblin idea doesn't mean there can't be another one. D&D has a billion different goblins and goblin like entities. And then there's the evil elves...

Also, Warhammer. 40K is just Warhammer IN SPACE. Warhammer is effectively just a darker version of generic fantasy. Ergo, WH40K is just generic fantasy IN SPACE.
Yeah, I do agree with the points you have. Although there's enough deviation from the standard Fantasy fare for it to be an enjoyable setting. In the end, it's not too hard to point at nearly any game, Video, Pen&Paper, Board, etc. and derive similarities with prior works. The generic fantasy setting, has been used quite a bit, you can draw parallels back to J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth. Even then you can draw parallels from his works back to generations of human folklore.

Well, the only thing left to say is that the setting works. It's made Gamesworkshop mass money, especially with licenses. As well as being popular enough to have people emulate the universe in other games. Like the Zerg you mentioned, as well as Starcraft as a whole.

I like 40K and until I sell this 5000+ Chaos army that's been collecting dust for the last 3 years. I'll continue to like it.

You know the rules: generic does not have to mean bad.

This is one such example where it certainly does not.

It's handled very well and manages to distance itself quite a bit from the original WH.

To the point where a lot of people forget this whole thing started out as a "humans vs orcs" fantasy game.

Queen's Blade. Unless I'm mistaken, only the first season has been dubbed.

Which is exactly why I hear 'warhammer' and shrug and ignore it.

At last count, I have 27 emails from Rapidshare telling me the Dreamcast Collection files are expiring, and I need to buy a Pro account to save them from deletion.

It's going to be a long month...there are probably 2000 individual files in the DC collection

I played, and rather enjoyed PSO on the Dreamcast. It was kinda shocking.
