Baldness happens under the skin. Anything you do with your hair after it's outside your head is unimportant.

Genetics are a much larger factor than environment.
None of the males on either side of my family really suffer from baldness though. I'm 29 and balder than any of my relatives. Maybe I got some freak recessive gene or something.

Damn, and I thought hanging out at nuclear reactors gave you super powers.

Possible. Random baldness does happen. But environmental based baldness is pretty rare and happens under extreme circumstances that tend to manifest in other ways than hair dropping out.

It can also be single X chromosonal on the grandparents/great grandparents from the mother's side. Your uncles on your mother's side were just fortunate enough to get the clean X. Your mother got both (or the "bald" X from the great grandparents), and you happened to pick up the "bald" X.

If your grandparents had a huge number of children that all have hair, that sorta complicates things (unless your great grandfather was bald). Genetics, it's fucking hilarious.

You do get one power from nuclear reactors: Greatly heightened cellular generation. Like Wolverine. 'cept it's fatal.

Oh well, long story short nature gave me a hair style that's very easy to maintain.

It's because I'm not going the full nine. I should be swimming in the reactor core pool. I would definitely be assured super powers then.

As Ray stated, it's a myth.
I've worn caps and beanies nearly all my life......still haven't had any problems with hair growth (and I'm close to 40).
Then again, there's no baldness on either side of my family going back several generations.

I'm getting quite a few grey hairs though

    Spoiler warning:

At some stage we'll all shave our heads to make you feel better.

You'll understand if cosmic doesn't though.
