Honestly, I don't understand why my PSX is still working. I did the exact same, and I treated it like shit. I've no idea why it still works
The only thing that's ever broken was some shitty Mad Catz analog controller. Everything else, including all of the games still work
EDIT: Wait, I have a memory card that's messed up too. For some reason, the whole console won't boot if I have that one memory card in, no clue why

Still have both models of the Playstion 1, never got them chipped though. My $20 bootdisk has worked great for the past ~5 years. I got offered a chipped Cube for £25 delivered (with no controller). He failed to tell me the Gamecube only reads big discs (and the case is a standard case) so I'd have to use it with the case off.
