That's right. "Number one liked JRPG". Sometimes Japanese is so wonderfully literal. It's maybe not good to mix 俺, which is kind of a rough and curt way of saying "I", with polite です form, but it's not grammatically wrong. Just sounds like a bit of a strange combination.

Plain form of です is だ, yeah. There are other, rougher ways to end the sentence if you want to, largely because, as you say, different speech styles in Japanese are nuts. But だ is neutral.

GAU-19 is so much fun. I just went back to a couple of enemy heavy levels, put the game on Easy, and walked around shooting everything. You'll rack it up pretty quickly.
