One question, does anyone have Shin Megami Tensei's Persona 3 Portable? Or does anyone know how to convert it from .iso to eboot.pbp (or whatever needed to play it on the PSP without cfw)?

Well I Suggest you get CFW because no way P3P will be signed its just way different than the other games.
has anyone made a working tales of vs signed game? i got a bit of it...but after the japanese letters at the first start up...it goes to a black screen but the home screen still works

Hello All, I am a total newbie at this PSP stuff, I just bought a PSP3001 that has firmware 5.50 on it. I need some advice on what firmware I should be using and I don't want to short myself out of any other possibilities yet. I don't care about accessing the PSN or other online features and I would like to be able to use these signed eboots on OFW 6.31 to 6.37, but I want to leave open the possibility to install CFW if I decide to later. It looks like the newest ofw available has locked out using these signed eboots and probably makes it harder to downgrade to older firmware ever. I assume I can install any specific firmware after 5.50 by loading it onto a memory stick as long as the software doesn't require a later version, but I was wondering if anyone has any reliable links to these archived older OFWs? It looks like FFIV has trouble on 6.31, so I am probably looking at 6.35, 6.37, 6.38 or 6.39 (if these last two still work on signed files?). Do these signed eboots work better on certain versions or would 6.35 be fine to play all of these without updating further than I need to? Is there any reason that I would want to use any specific version over the others with my main goal for now being to play signed games? Thanks in advance.

So, basically you want to play signed games, right? Then, I suggest to update your PSP to 6.39, which should be enough for you to run most of the signed games, as well installing CFW on that firmware.
Yes for now my main goal is to play signed games while keeping my options open for the future. I've never had a PSP before so I was worried that I might not like playing games on it so I might end up selling it or passing it along to someone else in my family so I didn't want to jump right into custom firmware just in case. I only saw that a lot of the signed games mention being tested on 6.31, 6.35 or 6.37. I would guess that was mainly because signed games were all the rage when those OFW were the current versions. I just wanted to make sure that every signed game should work up to 6.39 and that they didn't start locking some of these out before the 6.60 firmware. Thanks a bunch.
I ended up updating to 6.37 as I found a decent link that seems slightly more trustworthy than some others I have seen. Now I already have working signed eboots for almost all the UMD games I picked up before I got the system, that way I can save using my actual UMD drive for all the older UMD-only games that don't have signed eboots available like Crisis Core and Kingdom Hearts. Thanks to everyone who has spent countless hours making these signed eboots.

and you're trying to run signed games on that firmware? sorry though, it won't work, unless you have 6.39.
Either downgrade it, or just install CFW on that firmware.
