This whole post, including the last bit I agree with.

I mean I don't mind the popular heavy metal bands in their genre, but there are bands out there, that you may see as "shitty" or not that great, that I feel deserve more respect then some of the bands that are popular. I could sit here and name a ton, but I am not going to.

Whoever posted that link to Skiltron. Just listened to it, I actually like it, it's pretty damn good. I am going to have to find more of them.

Helloween haven't been all that good in.. Well ever. They have a cult following now pretty much, and I think once you sink to that low of a fanbase you should quit... It's like the Scorpions, they really pushed themselves too far and started producing sub-par albums.

Ayreon.. Ayreon... aren't they like Folk Metal? Their solos don't even fit their songs, it's their annoying trait that puts me off them.

Interesting folk metal band is Gåte, they're a Norwegian group and they're alright if you don't mind a softer style of Metal.
All That Remains is a shit band.

Ayreon are not folk. They are prog.

Way to find their one song that sounds really folksy.

Dude...are you just brain damaged? Supergroup has nothing to do with how good a band is. It's the fact that it's composed of members of other established bands.

Haha wow, could you be crying any harder right now? Loosen up.

Damn i'll be listening to the same bands and genre's no matter what.. I'll ride around in one of those old folks scooters blasting N.W.A swearing at kids... As long as it's music we love... Who gives a shit eh?

Also whoever posted Skiltron, I checked them out too, damn sick stuff! Great band...

Any of you guys listen to the band Armored Saint? I can't say they have all that many good songs because I kinda just play one song on repeat but a few of the songs I've heard have a great heavy metal sound to them...

Downloading fo' sure... I don't really listen to Gothic metal, so I suppose it's good to start with one of the greats eh?

They aren't really full-blown goth. There are other elements (very doom-ish feel esp in the early albums) there that make them better.

Well soz dude I live in a place where it's dominated by dickheads who drive Lexus' and pump house music every day who would sooner stab me than listen to a band I remotely like...

But thanks man I was actually gonna try and get along with you but the ignore option seems a little better. Thanks for being a solid fuckhead... -high five- Fuck you.

Finally, I can't stand people that change their tune just to try and get along. I'm aware that I'm being rude, dislike me as much as you'd like.

In other news, Attick Demons are releasing an album at the end of the month .

Scratch that, it seems it's already out.

    A dead ringer for Dickinson.

You can say that again. I have never heard of this band before, but that was a very good first impression.

I get the distinct feeling most people in this thread haven't ever heard actual emo/screamo. While its certainly not for everyone, it doesn't match half the descriptions people are giving of it.

    Emo:

I don't remember if I've brought up Allegaeon in this thread before. In any case I highly recommend them. They only have one full length album right now but it's still hard to pick a song to recommend starting on cause they are all so good.

Biomech - Vals No. 666 and then Accelerated Evolution.
