Damn, just got fleeced on Craigslist, and it's absolutely my fault. For not checking to make sure it worked before-hand.

I got a backwards compatible PS3 off of CL, ad says it works and it has pics of it functioning. I get a hold of the guy and he asks to meet me somewhere. Which is not totally unheard of. Anyway, I meet him and purchase said PS3. I take it home, plug it in, and boot it up. No picture, so I'm thinking reset the video. So I turn it off and turn it on by holding the power button. It turns on and boots up. It then says it has to update, okay, so I let it do it's thing. It updates and completes, 100%. It then updates databases and boots to the XMB. So I'm thinking cool, it boots, I go to put a disc in, no go. Won't even suck it up.

I take the damn thing apart, open the BD and it has two pennies like some kid put them in. *sigh* So I put it all back together and now it won't even boot. I try to boot it to safe mode and I've gotten it there twice. Only to have it freeze with some green artifacts. Damn thing is obviously fucked and pre-YLOD. I got totally fucked, don't be like me kids. Trust your gut instinct and make sure to test it before purchasing. Nobody to be really mad at, except myself.

Since within 30 years this guy will be nothing more than a slight footnote in scientific history.

I have a portable DVD player with RCA inputs and a power inverter so I can plug it in in my car. Clearly you should do the same.

Anyway, that sucks. Maybe you should use Angie's List to find someone to hunt the bastard down.
