I went to college because it's what I figured I wanted, what everyone else was doing, and because I wanted to "get my life started". You're still young, you've got time to figure things out. I spent two years working towards a law degree and dropped out after some family problems. I'll be 23 in a month and I'm going back next year to start from scratch and study something completely different. It's never too late.
Also, on the topic of grades/uni: I finished near the top of my class. I'm currently a broke as fuck unemployed guy with a life I wouldn't wish on anyone. Education is a fucking lie. Never let anyone tell you otherwise. In the real world, it's all about connections and luck. How much shit you can memorize or how many books you can read in a week doesn't amount to a damn thing in the long run. Unless you happen to be in one of "those" careers. And even then, competence and knowing the right people will do you just as much good. Because, hey, no one gets ahead in life by having a good report card.
