I studied Korean for a summer and got pretty good at reading it. I then completely forgot it when I started learning Chinese. ;__; I had a big advantage though, as Korean grammar is so similar to Japanese.

I kinda started to learn katakanas and hiraganas.

...you know, this semester I'll try to get myself in learning a language, it's about damn time.

At least I'll learn it more properly than English.

Your English is better than a lot of the other members .

This. It's also substantially better than any foreign language I speak. :'D

I feel kinda proud of learning it thanks to the SNES, FF, and watching that weird BBC channel that had no subs at all, except some CC in some programmes. Grammar is still something I'm working with, but reading it was the first thing I learned.

Your Japanese must be pretty good, if you can hold a conversation for 30 minutes.

I know, right? I have trouble holding a conversation for 30 minutes in English.

Getting better. Still feel like I'm far from the kind of fluency that most foreign speakers of English here possess in English, though.

Also, memorizing and writing kanji turned out to be easier than I expected.

Obviously, I'm only saying that because I only know like a dozen so far.

Also, I've no idea about the order in which one should learn these. My method was pretty much "oh look, pretty Pandora's Tower boxart! so that's the kanji for tower, huh? Cool." *makes note*
