I liked the battle system for the most part. I didn't like having to plow through "room" after room of encounters when you entered a location from the map, but I found the acrobatics entertaining. I was just surprised that when it first came out, I couldn't find it on shelves anywhere for a while and none of the sellers had heard of it. That's not so much the case now, but it was frustrating for a bit.

List them anyway, the point is to be giving them some exposure, right?

    Hi there troll-chan.

Edit: Did I menton Spectral Force 3 in here? Don't get me wrong, it's not great game and for many people it wouldn't even be a good game but if you are an oldass RPG fan like me it's fun. Replayability is VERY high if again you are an old RPG player (branching paths and missions, multiple endings etc). You have to get passed that it looks like a PS2 game despite being on the 360 but you can get it for next to nothing now. Worth about $10 in my books and you can get a lot out of it.

I feel Baldur's Gate 2 Dark Alliance is a terribly underrated game...With customizing All of your equipment to fighting the 2 headed devil dog
its the most fun ive have on an RPG.

    He asked, I explained.

Its not an entirely bad series (and, to be fair, it wrote a good number of the cliches in JRPGs) but its very much a JRPG for those who like the JRPG template a lot more than they like the actual genre.

Yeah, I'd say Grandia. That game is a gem, voice acting in a PSX game is really quite something to marvel at... it had almost a 90% positive review, but not very many people got it.

Also I just thought of Space Shot, that game was my first PlayStation game and it was great. I mean voice acting, full CG rendered cut scenes and plenty of ammo to waste on hours of blowing stuff up. Sadly though, not very many people either have or have not even heard of it.

bushido blade on ps1: unique weapon based fighting game. its more realistic thanother games in the genre.
silent bomber on ps1: unconventional action game where you use bombs instead of guns.

Wow. I never thought I would find someone who knew what that is. Anyway I've been playing FFIX and it's wonderful. Seems to be one of the less talked about games in the series and I don't know why. It could be that it's just so refreshing after XIII though.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3! IMHO this is one of if not thee most underrated game ever. To this day i still dont know of anything that gives you the same freedom to be creative. The game has the potential to last as long as your imagination is big.

I'm just reffin with you. You don't like short games or long games.

Vampire The Masqurade Bloodlines is a lesser loved game http://store.steampowered.com/app/2600/

also im so glad no one mentioned Psychonauts, that game is rather the opposite of this thread since Yatzhee mentioned it, but everyone says it normally in these threads

i think turok 3 shadow of oblivion because from what i heard some people say that the graphics arent as good as turok 2. but i think its one of the better turok games released, and to be honest i think like turok 2 and turok 1 it still holds up nicely today and i would play it any day.

Its more that I don't like games whose content doesn't matchup with their length. I'm OK with short games provided they're well paced and I love longer games provided that length isn't the result of cut-and-paste environments or required grinding to bulk the game out.

Fair. I despise Gears of War myself (was referring to a post in some other thread where you bashed gears when I was bringing up short games).

For me, by the time Turok 3 had been released, there were already three other Turok titles for the 64 (Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, and Turok: Rage Wars). By that point... I was done. They were all a little bit different, but I felt they all played the same, and by the time Shadow of Oblivion came out, I didn't want to touch another Turok title for a long ass time. Especially with all of the hours dedicated to Turok 2 (two hours between save points? Fuck you, Acclaim. )

That's not to say I didn't mildly enjoy the title. I just couldn't be arsed to play through another Turok game. Graphics, for a lot of us, don't have anything to do with it. The Turok series (at least on the 64) already had great graphics.
